James is a passionate advocate for The Ritz-Carlton brand and is honored to ignite this passion in others as he shares his unique insights on the company’s culture and philosophies and how they are activated everyday around the world.

Originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, James has just over 30 years of service combined with the company. After his initial hire in 1982, his foray into the realm of hotel sales began in 1990 with Marriott International where he spent time in Colorado, Utah and Arizona. His portfolio of Marriott hotels ranged from suburban and downtown hotels to full service resorts.

James joined The Ritz-Carlton LLC in 2001 and brings his sales skills and expertise into the luxury segment focusing on key high profile VIP clientele. James was recognized by the NBA Trainers Association as sales leader of the year in 2007 and in 2010, was awarded sales leader of the year by the NFL Travel Directors. The Ritz-Carlton has awarded James Five Star Leader of the Quarter in 2009 and 2010.

As an industry veteran, James is a hospitality specialist in Phoenix. He is actively involved in Meeting Professionals International and other industry organizations. He is highly sought after to lend his speaking talents to emcee events and as a panel discussion expert.

James enjoys addressing college students who are aspiring hospitality professionals. “When you see that burning excitement come over one of their faces, then you know you have a future Ritz-Carlton superstar in front of you”. His recruitment efforts have often been commended and he takes great pride in teaching and mentoring others into senior leadership positions around the globe.
