Teniqua Broughton is
the Executive Director of the Act One Foundation, providing educational
fieldtrips to visual and performing arts venues for Arizona’s underserved
schools throughout Maricopa and Pima counties.
Teniqua has experience in providing both direct services for students,
teachers and schools in education and arts education positions focused
areas such as teaching artist residencies or workshops, art integration
models and evaluation and assessment projects.
One of her latest community projects is the launch of the Monarch Society
membership and Monarch Council (board committee) at the Desert Botanical
Gardens, which focuses on engaging emerging professionals the garden’s
strategic and philanthropic efforts for the future.
Teniqua currently serves on the board or advisory committees of Desert
Botanical Garden, Arizona Community Foundation’s Black Philanthropy
Initiative and the Western States Arts Federation’s Multicultural Advisory
Committee. She was named the 2010 YWCA “Tribute to a Woman” Emerging
Leader honoree and one of the 2009 Arizona Business Journal’s 40 under 40
