Lela C. Lawless has over eighteen years of public accounting experience managing complex litigation support, business valuation, forensic accounting, fraud detection, analyzing claims and calculating economic damages related to lost profits, fraud schemes, accounting malpractice claims, securities litigation, bankruptcy, employment, contract disputes and other business disputes. Ms. Lawless has prepared numerous expert reports, supporting schedules, analysis and exhibits used in all phases of commercial litigation. Ms. Lawless has completed a wide variety of business valuation assignments and has extensive experience in gift and estate tax matters.
Ms. Lawless’ has worked in national and local consulting firms, both audit and tax departments of a “Big Four” accounting firm and most recently began her own consulting firm in 2008 concentrating on litigation support and valuation services.
Ms. Lawless holds several professional designations including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), in the State of Arizona, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Ms. Lawless is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a on the steering committee for both the Forensics and Litigation Services section and the Business Valuation Services section. Ms. Lawless is also a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Ms. Lawless currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Phoenix Crisis Nursery. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Foundation for Burns and Trauma and is the past chairman of the Holiday Festival of Trees benefiting this organization. Ms. Lawless is also a member of the Women’s Metropolitan Art Council and Women’s Investments Skill Exchange.
Ms. Lawless holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business
Administration from the University of Arizona.
